All good things

Can you pinpoint the end of a song,
a movie, a book you read, of a love affair?
Is it the moment you know the plot,
hear the last bar or see the credits
the moment the music stops?

or is it something less definite
that instant you are turned off
not in tune, or just not bothered
that you cannot make him smile rather
than frown.

weighing up the pros and cons
now is a good time to call it quits
to turn off the speakers and
up the lights. to put the book on a shelf

Patchy Tonight

conversations broken
love notes torn
communication patchy tonight
I wonder would we have
the laughter and the frustration
if we met, in a cafe or a bar

and yet, I would not swap
lost packets and half a sentences
except to hold you close
and kiss your face

There

there is a game
on the net
where we met

there is an airport
ina city
where we kissed

there is a bed
in a flat
where you are missed

there is a form
in an office
awaiting stamping

Get on with it!

2<3

You said 'Two hearts beating'
and I though of us
apart but together
2 hearts beating

And you meant your core processors
and I though of me
you are my core now
all my processes going through you

And I realised
how techie, how you
how we meet, and communicate
and the conversations we have
and how organic our love is
warm and fleshlike
in our machine worlds

Together

Convex and concave,

you are one and I the other;

we fit, together,

spooned or slotted;

close, not peas,

in their pod.

but seed and flesh;

one inside the other.
